Garbage Collection
Garbage collection in the municipality of Cap-Pelé is now done in two days. Tuesdays on Bas-Cap-Pelé Road, Robichaud Street and the streets and lanes along these roads and Wednesdays on Acadie Road, Trois-Ruisseaux Road and the streets and roads along these roads. The garbage is not to be set out before 6:00 p.m. the day prior to the collection.
The municipality wants to thank its citizens for their participation in the wet-dry separation program. According to a study done by the Westmorland-Albert Solid Waste Corporation, 75% to 80% of the people in the municipality do separate their garbage.
This study indicates that the majority of the people in the municipality take the initiative to recycle their garbage, but there is always room for improvement. This being said, the municipality of Cap-Pelé highly encourages all the citizens to make the effort to separate their garbage.

Waste Management has scheduled three (3) special garbage collections: one in the spring, one in the summer and one in the fall. See schedule below.
- Tree branches must be bundled and not more than 4 feet in length and weigh not more than 50 lbs.
- No loose garbage, please have debris and waste properly bundled and/or in bags or boxes and weighing not more than 50 lbs and a maximum of one pick-up per residence.
- Building materiel and auto parts will not be picked up.
- Tires and domestic appliances will be picked-up.
- The special garbage collection will be held with the normal weekly household garbage collection.

The Westmorland-Albert Solid Waste Corporation (WASWC) will hold two (2) half-days where you can drop off your hazardous waste free of charge. The Mobile Household Hazardous Waste Unit will be in the Père-Camille-Léger Arena parking lot from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the dates mentioned below.
