The department of public safety is made up of two components: the fire department and police department.
Fire Department
The Mission of the Cap-Pelé Fire Department is to ensure the safety of people while trying to minimize loss of life and property.
Currently, the Fire Department has 42 volunteer firefighters devoted to protecting the wellbeing and safety of Cap-Pelé residents. The fire station has 3 firefighting trucks and lots of extraction tools.

There is an open house every Sunday afternoon from 1 pm to 4 pm at the fire station for those who want more information.
Police Department
The mission of the Police Department is to ensure the safety of citizens to provide a quality of life in our municipality.
The Cap-Pelé RCMP detachment is made up of one corporal and three constables who are the security of the municipality in addition to being very active in the community.
